Optimum(s)

From a purely non-complete bludge point of view, I've decided a 3 day long weekend is about optimum. Enough time for play and rest, with enough working hours to get a reasonable income and the like.

However though I've found one optimum I'm yet to discover another. Somewhere in the midst of this year is an optimum waiting for me to discover arguably one that will drive me for a good part of the remaining decade and perhaps moving into the next. Unfortunately, somewhere I sense there's going to study involved which is depressing, actually highly depressing. Working life isn't that bad so hopefully this elusive thing will be easier to find.

Gardening is another optimum I'm searching for. Desperately lacking any creative talent and/or any prolonged motivation for gardening I would really like a nice garden. More than green lawns, I want one with colour and water-features - I need one of those reality gardening shows to come around. One thing out of the equation is a lemon tree, decided they're simply too big.

To summarise, I think I've taken a fork in a road and I'm looking for shelter to make a pit-stop.

Completion of the End

The final part of uni ended today and frankly, uni life probably saved its most boring lecture, or at least lecture theatre event to last. The graduation ceremony wasn't that bad actually, it was just the guest speaker who failed to inspire even the most optimistic soul rambling about his own career.

The plus side was walking across the stage and "doffing" your cap and collecting that all important piece of paper. Upon reflection I don't have a business card to throw my "BCom (UNSW)" behind my name... bugger! Upon even more reflection, it does seem too many Tom, Dick and Harry's have BCom's or even MCom's judging by the number of MCom graduates. Looking forward I wouldn't mind wearing one of those PhD hats - they look fun, the work doesn't.

Desperate Housewives being dropped? Just doesn't do anything for me now.

In other news, apparently some bloke called Charles is marrying some woman called Camila today. Anyone care?

Buggery

Been pretty busy at work lately knocking off a couple of post-7pm nights - interestingly I don't feel any more tired and I'm even managing to wake up early. Work has appointed me in two new roles, good to see I'm progressing quickly...although its only the First Aid officer and designated name tag preparer.

In other news, Waratahs lost to the Crusaders with yours-truly in the stand...I think that makes from my team's Matt-game-day record at about 2 from 8 in the last few years, they just can't win with me in the crowd, or even Van in the crowd.

Also, Desperate Housewives has been dropped from the essential viewing list.
