Frustration releasing rant
I'm seriously frustrated at the moment. A friend of mine bitches about her CA course on her blog an immense amount and finally my frustration has boiled over... I freaken annoys me that you spend 7 years in primary school, 6 years in high school and (for me) 4 years at uni and first year out, I'm still studying. Granted, there are benefits once I replace the A with the F in the letters behind my name... but dammit, why is society so competitive that we're forced to strive for such success. We all should have a mass strike against post-graduate education such that the uniform standard is a uni degree (we could drop the standard lower, but I've got my degree now). As MCP told me, I need to fight the system.
And of course, this isn't gonna happen as I return to my course notes in due time. But it makes you wonder, in a generation of two, you'll be studying till you're 30-odd just to meet "minimal" standard in certain industries. You're probably have to book an appointment with your partner to start a family given the work committments and study crap.
In better news, Oztag is going as pathetic as always. Despite this, I'm really enjoying it playing in dummy half and missing plenty of tags - as I do. I like the fact some of the team are developing, but what shits me is that some players simply don't have committment or desire. If you live near Strathfield and are interested in joining our team... comment here.
Other ponderings... and I think I'll always ponder this.... Biggest Regret of University Life - Not going on Exchange. Know too many people who have gone in the last year and had a blast. Will have to live that one in my children...
And to hell with VSU. University life is what you make of it and if you don't live it up and enjoy what's on offer, don't whinge about union fees. There's no doubt clubs, societies and the like enhance university life whether it be a cult like AIESEC, sporting clubs or Society of Beer Appreciation (SOBER).... they add that extra element to uni life. With VSU, the very thought of clubs and societies being run by private school elitists could be a reality... urgh... Go Barnaby for his stance on this policy.
