Pivotal Moments
I believe in life you experience pivotal moments where you feel its essentially a "turning point" in a time series, or a trend. The last one that occurred was about 15 months ago at Rehi's BBQ - it basically said that uni life was well and truly over and began a new chapter of our life.
Now in retrospect, another occurred over the last few days. Taking nothing away from an awesome trip up at Avoca Beach, this trip sorta singled our true emergence into adulthood. As a mate put it, "song of the moment has to be Youth Group's "Forever Young". Which sort of makes me all nostalgic and contemplative." Indeed, soon the mob of 14 will be all working fulltime, freak, even a couple will be married. Others will be studying some BS...
Moving away from the mushy stuff.... the trip was fantastic. The accomodation was almost luxurious, the weather was 'beautiful one day, perfect the next,' the beach brought some great waves and the company was unrivalled. Drinking and playing cards on a deck with a BBQ is definitely underrated.... someone go buy a beachhouse dammit.
